It entirely depends on the guy, but I would say the majority notice, and probably wish it hadn’t happened at the very least. But if the guy loves you, he overlooks a lot because of the person you are. I know when I love someone, I don’t see the flab, wrinkles, thinning hair or other things they worry so much about. These superficial flaws just seem to be invisible when you love the person they are.

I think it is incredibly un-fair to the husband if the wife stops taking care of her looks after they get married! (And vice versa) That makes the husband feel un-loved in a way. If she doesn’t care about how she looks for him, then she doesn’t care about his needs. It’s just un-fair, and lazy! Women need to contintue to look their best for their husbands, no matter how long they have been married! To me, it’s a sign of love and respect to your mate!

it really depends on the reason the wife gained weight. if u just do nothing and eat all the time and gain 30 lbs your man might not like it. but if u gained because of pregnancy its ok. a man loves a pregnant woman.

Usually men help the wives deal with the weight if they have
medical reasons and can’t help it. But, if she gains weight because she can’t push away from the table then they aren’t too happy!!!! The biggest problem women have is the excess weight after a baby is born!! That is women need to buckle down and lose the extra poundage before it gets carried away!!!! Men work with your woman she desires your attention more thn ever to drop the poundage!!!!!

Ive gained some pounds after we got married…but that is due to a method to cope.In Six months I graduated from university (exams included) planned a wedding, got married, in a car accident, moved three times (once in with my in-laws – two hours away from my family) had to get a new job, and was being harrassed there by the boss so went and found a new job, Found out my mom is leaving my dad and to top it all off – we bought a new house. On a stress test the doc gave me – i was near a mental break down….but i at least had my cake !!
lol – but now that life is getting more settled – my husband loved me through the gain (46 lbs) and now we are working on lossing it – together!

There is so much more than just weight gain to consider. Has she naturally added a few pounds due to children and age? Of is she lazy in her personal habits and just not trying to stay in shape? The answers to those questions will be a big factor in whether or not her husband still finds her attractive. I may never fit into the jeans I wore when we got married, but I still work out and take care of myself. I watch what I eat – some days. Women who stop caring and turn into overweight slobs shouldn’t expect their husband to still feel the same attraction. She’s no longer the type of woman he fell for in the first place.
EDIT: Remember, we are talking about attraction, not love. Husbands may still love their wives, but not be attracted to them.

I think it depends on how much weight she has put on. Depends also if the hubby is into big women. I, for one needs to gain a little weight and my hubby would appreciate it if I put on a few pounds. But if we’re talking about 20 or more pounds, I guess that would be an issue. Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the couple involved.

Men are as different about these issues as women are. My fiance loves me no matter what size. I have been thinner and I got to be the biggest I have ever been. He never stopped showing his attraction towards me. Now that I’m getting thinner, he enjoys it but doesn’t make a fuss. His only thing is that he doesn’t want me to lose my butt even though thats one of my biggest (pun intended) problem areas.

I have had exes that were very much into the physical appearances of a woman. I had one in particular that was completely turned off with any weight gain at all. That’s why he’s an ex.

My husband gained 50 lbs. after we got married, he’s developed a little “beer belly”, NO it does not turn me off & YES i still feel very attracted to him & I still love him a lot & am very much still “in love” with him.

If his weight ever got out of hand, I would help him lose the weight, not because I think he’s being “disrespectful” or “not taking care of himself” (like that idiot Blackwidow who wrote that answer above). I would help him lose the weight & be supportive + positive. NOT judgmental, rude & negative. Only dumb shallow people would do that to their spouse. I will continue to love my husband NO MATTER WHAT! regardless what any of you think. That is what marriage is about.

Hopefully they will love them just as much as they did when they got married. I think new vows should be added to the “rich or poor, sickness and health, thin or robust”….

We are the same person whether we weigh 120 or 320.

I would ask how do woman feel about their husbands when they go bald, get hair in their ears and on their back?

My husband still seems to be just as attracted to me as ever, even though I put on quite a bit of weight some years ago. Whenever I make discontented comments about my size, his usual response is to go out and buy me some chocolate, or make something delicious and fattening for dinner. So l take it he is quite happy with me as I am.

I married my hubs when he was quite overweight – and he has gained some & lost some during the nearly 8 years we’ve been together. Although it bothers me because he has developed some serious health issues as a result of the extra weight, I still love him as much as ever and he definately knows all the moves to get me going! So, it is the person he is on the inside that I love. I think men are really the same way, but unfortunately, they also are more easily led astray for no better reason than looks.

I have been married to my wife for 20 years. She has gained 60 pounds in that 20 years. when we married she weighed 102 and was actually probably “unhealthy thin.” She works hard at taking it off (the weight that is) :) Honestly, in answer to your question: I think my wife is even hotter now at 40 than she was at 20.
